Hi, I’m Rick – a horror author, editor and academic - and I am the person behind Nighttime Writers.
I independently published my first book in 2016 and made the transition to full-time author in 2018. Since then, I have published over forty horror and thriller novels, many of which have made it to #1 in several different charts on Amazon.
During this time, I completed my Master’s degree in Creative Writing in 2018, which provided me with a lot of valuable knowledge that improved my writing. In November 2024, I was officially awarded my PhD, entitled ‘Demonic Horror and its Reflection of Society.’ Through my research, I have extended my expertise in horror, creative writing and the theories that inform this.
I was also an GCSE and A Level English teacher for many years, so am used to evaluating and correcting work. In addition to this, I have led workshops with students completing their Master's degree in Creative Writing and supervised various students completing their thesis.
I look forward to working with you on your book!
